Feiglin: Zoabi Isn’t the Problem, it's the Supreme Court

MK Moshe Feiglin (Likud) said on Thursday that he objects to the police investigation against MK Hanin Zoabi (Balad).
Explaining his position, Feiglin wrote on his Facebook page that it is the Supreme Court – not Zoabi – that is the problem, seeing as the Supreme Court overturned a decision banning Zoabi from running to the Knesset before the last election.
“The Knesset - meaning the elected officials - has twice already decided to remove this wasp from our midst and the Supreme Court returned her to our parliament. Now Zoabi represents her voters, stings us all – and that’s exactly why she has immunity,” he wrote.
He noted that Zoabi was not being investigated for stealing money but for her activity in the framework of her political agenda.
“Today the police are investigating her, tomorrow they will investigate MK Miri Regev or Zahava Galon. In a democracy, the parliament investigates the police and not the other way around,” wrote Feiglin.
“So don’t start now with Zoabi because it is easy,” he added. “If someone is having difficulties with Zoabi he should understand that the problem is not Zoabi but the Supreme Court.”
Zoabi is infamous for provocative speeches, including one in which she said that Israel has “no right to a normal life” and a later address claiming that “the Israeli occupation” was behind the murder of Israelis in Bulgaria. Recently, she declared that Israel should “thank her” for allowing Jews to live in the Jewish State.
The current investigation against her is over suspicions of inciting violence and insulting a public official. Though she originally refused to report for questioning, Zoabi arrived this past Monday morning at a police station in Lod for questioning.
