For decades the world has subscribed to the notion that the two-state solution presents the most viable road to resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; it is time that other ideas be allowed to enter the public discourse.
When President Obama leaves office, yet another US administration will depart without resolution of the Israeli – Palestinian conflict.
As with all incoming administrations, a Trump presidency ushers in the opportunity to review, retain, or revise the terms of long-standing policies, including those relating to the Middle East.
The ‘two state solution’, as broadly defined, is a policy that must be reviewed and revised. No proposed solution to the conflict need be perfect; all must be possible, however. The two-state solution is neither. The insipid one state solution is even less so...
A further state for the Palestinian Arabs can be established. That state must be viable though. It must augur in a future of promise, security, liberty, sovereignty, self determination and opportunity for its inhabitants. Citizens of this Palestinian state must be granted every possible chance to positively thrive (but not on Jewish land). It must be a state whose people not only dare to dream, but who actually realize the dreams they conceive.
This state must not come into being at the expense of Israel either now or in the future. Neither Israel the people, nor Israel the country must be existentially compromised in order to facilitate its creation...

One of the biggest problems Jewish people having is the phenomenon of the existence of self-hating Jews. No other nation has it! Some people of other nations might dislike the politics of their governments, but they do not have such deep and pathological sense of self-hate, which drives them to the extent of betraying their own people and the future of the Jewish nation. Self-hating Jews are eagerly and pro-actively helping enemies of Israel! Another, even bigger problem is Jewish disunity!
Israel stands out in military capability where it is ranked 6th in the world, and technological capability where it ranks 4th. Its capabilities ranked 25 in economy, 17 in population and 19 in foreign affairs. (Israel has spiritual, historic and legal rights to Jewish land - It is time to re-claim these rights, and reunite Eretz-Israel! Most countries have done more with fewer rights and abilities.)
US President-elect Donald Trump offered retired Lieutenant General Michael Flynn the position of White House national security adviser; former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, Flynn, who has called Islam a 'malignant cancer,' shares Trump's vision of warmer relations with Israel and advised Trump during the campaign on national security issues.
The mayor of Jerusalem has threatened to demolish “hundreds” of Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem if the West Bank settlement of Amona is evacuated. The Israeli High Court ruled that the outpost is illegal. It ordered the settlement’s evacuation by December 25and rejected a government request to delay the evacuation by seven months to find an alternative for the approximately 40 families residing there. (Building Jewish homes in Eretz-Israel is not illegal - there are hundreds of illegal Arab constructions to demolish!)
The Palestinian Authority leadership blasted a proposed law to ban the use of loudspeakers to broadcast the Muslim call to prayer from mosques across Israel, warning that if passed the law would spark a new war. (Since when is Israel not allowed to adopt internal laws? How many declarations of war by the PA does Israeli government need to remove enemy occupiers from Jewish land?)
This will soon change, you know, but for now it was fascinating to watch how State Dept. Press Office Director Elizabeth Trudeau, at a daily press briefing, November 14, 2016, said that building Jewish homes in Judea, Samaria and eastern Jerusalem without legal authorization is “corrosive to peace,” while building illegal Arab homes in the same territory is not only a good thing, demolishing them is also corrosive to peace.
The Ministerial Committee for Legislation approves the proposed bill to ban mosque muezzins from announcing prayer times via loudspeakers in the streets, the ongoing issue of excessive noise in the early hours which "disturbs Jewish, Muslims and Christians". “One hundred years ago there were no loudspeakers,” MK Motti Yogev (Bayit Yehudi) said. “So what did the muezzins do at that time?” (During occupation by Jordan, Churches were not allowed to ring bells in East Jerusalem!)
The World Health Organization (WHO) has awarded the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Medical Corps field hospital a ‘Type 3’ score: the highest rating that exists. The rating is used in the set of criteria set forth by the United Nations (UN) international public health agency to rate foreign medical assistance teams during times of disaster.
Judea and Samaria are Part of Eretz-Israel
An Israeli ministerial committee approved a bill that would allow for the retroactive legalization of Jewish settlements built Judea and Samaria. The measure breaks a longstanding taboo. The bill requires approval by Knesset before becoming law. (Predictably, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opposed the bill – showing lack of leadership and personal gutlessness!)
Construction workers began placing the first blocks of a security wall around the Ain al-Hilweh ‘refugee camp’ in Lebanon. Ain al-Hilweh, home to thousands of Arabs and their descendants from Judea and Samaria who fled during and after the 1948 and 1967 wars with Israel.
Quote of the Week:
“Many people, especially ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologize for being correct, or for being years ahead of your time. If you’re right and you know it, speak your mind. Speak your mind. Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is still the truth.” - Mohandas Gandhi
