Thirty factions register to run in a third straight election, matching September s total, although the roster features a few newcomers as some small niche parties bow out.
A total of 30 political parties registered to run for the Knesset as a filing deadline expired Wednesday night, from powerhouses like Blue and White and Likud to tiny niche factions seen as having little to no chance of entering parliament.
Amid a frenzy of last-moment drama, religious, right-wing parties Yamina and Otzma Yehudit squeezed in to submit their faction slates minutes before the midnight registration deadline.
The 30 parties to register match the number of slates in the September elections. In the 2019 April election 39 parties ran - the most in Israel s election history. Twenty-five parties ran in the 2015 election.
...extra printing is required to make sure no one is prevented from voting for their preferred party. With approximately 6,300,000 Israelis eligible to vote, the spokesperson for the Central Elections Committee said that some eight million slips would be printed for each party. And with 30 slates, that s a whopping total of 240 million ballot slips to be printed.
Likud and Blue and White were expected to dominate the March vote, with polls predicting at least 30 seats for each...
In a repeat of the filing deadline ahead of September s vote, the biggest flurry of drama came courtesy of the far-right with tense negotiations lasting almost until the committee finally closed its doors at 11:59 pm...
The Joint List of predominantly Arab-Israeli parties, filing its own slate, said that it expected to receive at least 15 seats in the national poll, partially thanks to Meretz tilting rightward...
The Pirate Party has run in every Israeli election for the last 15 years. It has never won a seat in the Knesset. (Too many little kings no real leadership!)

Enemies of Israel have a clear agenda, which has not changed since the Middle Ages. What is the goal of the Jewish nation? Just survival or Quiet are not national goals - it is a miserable existence, which perpetuates terror!
Britain's finance ministry announced it had added the entire Hezbollah organization to its list of terrorist groups subject to asset freezing. The group had "publicly denied a distinction between its military and political wings," the Treasury said. "The group in its entirety is assessed to be concerned in terrorism and was proscribed as a terrorist organization in the UK in March 2019." (Why did it take them so long to state the obvious? The answer is also obvious!)
Israel Inaugurates Second F-35 Squadron
At the Negev desert air base of Nevatim, the 116th Squadron of the Israeli Air force inaugurated the second squadron of the fifth-generation F-35 stealth aircraft known as the Lions of the South. Israel is the first country after the US to acquire this state-of-the-art-aircraft after with certain modifications in accordance with its special needs.
Hundreds of Muslims chanted about killing Jews outside the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem on Friday morning on Hamas and Fatah orders. The chants began as worshipers were leaving the mosque following prayers. The cry relates to an event in the seventh century when Muslims massacred and expelled Jews from the town of Khaybar, located in modern-day Saudi Arabia. They also shouted: With spirit and blood, we will salvage Al-Aqsa and Jews, the army of Al-Aqsa is returning. In response police entered the compound and dispersed about 8,000 worshipers/rioters. (It was not a spiritual prayer but the call for genocide of Jews! How long must the government of Israel wait for the return of armies of Allah? All enemies must be removed from all Jewish land!)
Three incendiary balloons reached Sderot from Gaza on Wednesday, after a long pause. Last summer, swarms of these balloons caused dozens of fires in southern Israel. On the same day, Israeli fighter planes struck several targets belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in the Northern Gaza Strip. The airstrikes were in retaliation to the launching of four rockets at Israel.
Defense Minister Naftali Bennett ordered the IDF and security forces to issue restraining orders against violent left-wing anarchist activists from operating in Judea and Samaria. Bennett said, Nobody has the right to harm our dear IDF soldiers and the security of the state in the name of freedom of expression and a right to demonstration. It is time to stop the cheap provocations of these anarchists and take a firm hand against domestic enemies. The circus is over. (Unfortunately, it sounds as a pre-election ploy only, which will be followed by action!)
The feud between the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Hamas reached new levels as Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas leader Islamil Haniyeh both arrived in Oman to pay their condolences for the death of Sultan Qaboos Bin Said and fought over who really represented the Palestinians. (They do not care about late Sultan, who fed them, or poor Palestinians Political posturing is more important in order to receive a bigger cut in funding from enemies of Israel, a big chunk of which they put in their fat private accounts!)
The Israeli intelligence estimates that if Iran continues its nuclear program at the present pace, it will have 25 kgs of highly enriched uranium by winter 2020 and a missile capable of carrying a nuclear bomb in two years. This estimate matches the forecast Israel made five years ago, when six world powers signed a nuclear accord with Iran for curtailing its development of a nuclear bomb, and gave Iran a $150bn reward!
Israel has started pumping natural gas to Egypt from two massive offshore fields. Jerusalem s and Cairo s energy ministries issued the rare joint statement, calling the move an important development that will serve the economic interests of both sides.
Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, who publicly recognized Israel s right to exist - and defend itself - is being replaced after 15 years. Recently, He took two steps back from previous comments about his desire to improve relations with Israel. Maybe he had gone too far, said Yoel Guzansky, a senior researcher at Tel Aviv University s Institute for National Security Studies. (Arab states need Israel to help them to remove the regime in Iran, but they will never be true friends of Israel!)
Israeli defense establishment unveiled its latest revolutionary technological achievement - it has successfully developed a laser-based air defense system! The system is meant to intercept aerial threats ranging from as mortar fire, drones, medium range Grad rockets, anti-tank missiles as well as long-range missiles. The system is able to intercept a flying target from a distance of five kilometers (3.1 miles).
In first, Turkey included as threat in IDF s annual intel assessment. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan seen as pushing an increasingly aggressive stance in the region, threatening Israel s maritime interests. Relations between Israel and Turkey have been increasingly strained under Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who routinely speaks out against the Jewish state and allegedly allows Palestinian terror groups to operate freely in his country. (Why is Turkey still in NATO?)

We hear quite often that it is the fault of the West that the Muslim world hates us so much. They claim that it is Western demands for implementation of democracy, perceived as arrogance by Muslims that are responsible for the escalation of Islamic terrorism worldwide. They say that Muslims feel disrespected and insulted by Western superiority and the lifestyle, which the West tries to impose on the Muslim world. The message of hate toward the West is loud and clear!
I am totally sympathetic with their concerns and agree that we, Western countries, must not impose our values on our Muslim neighbours. We must completely refrain from interference in their way of life!
If the governments of Muslim countries and their population do not want to live by and obey the rules of mutual respect and peaceful co-existence with other nations, cultures and religions, we must let them live the way they desire! Therefore, total isolation must be imposed upon them and we have to let them live in complete and total disengagement from us.
They want to live in accordance with and under Sharia Law, a genuine Muslim lifestyle and in an environment of malignant terror and hate. Let them enjoy it in complete self-containment! The wishes of the countries and peoples who hate us so much should be respected by Western society. We must allow them to maintain their ignorant lifestyle and let them impose terror and hate on themselves only. This is the Containment Plan:
1. Start active development and implementation of alternative sources of energy, with complete dedication of financial and human resources.
The benefits: It will make a cleaner environment; political and economic independence from Arab oil; Remove a tool of Arab blackmail; Reduce financing of terror; Engender a positive and healthy economical balance and quality of life.
2. Intensify the war against drug trafficking from Muslim countries.
The benefits: It will improve public health; reduce the drugs for arms terror trade.
3. Suspend immigration from Muslim countries and deport the radical and criminal Islamic elements to the countries of their or their parent's origin.
The benefits: It will prevent the deliberate Muslimisation process of Western society; Stop the spread of locally grown Islamic terrorism; Allow freedom of expression in the Western Muslim communities.
4. Stop the sale of advanced arms and technology to Muslim countries.
The benefits: It will prevent the escalation of terror and transfer of advanced technology to the hands of terror fostering Muslim states; reduce the chance of development of WMD.
5. Reduce political, cultural and trade contacts. So far, those contacts have not encouraged Muslim societies to build democracy. Quite the opposite, hostility toward the West has increased.
The benefits: It will reduce cultural pollution of Western and Muslim societies.
6. If nothing else works stop all trade, cultural and political contacts with the worst offenders, like Iran and Saudi Arabia. Impose blockades.
The benefits: If their hatred of the West is so great and the West is so bad, they must not enjoy the products of "evil"!
