An Arab organization claimed on Tuesday that MK Moshe Feiglin (Likud) “defiled” the Al-Aqsa mosque by visiting the Temple Mount several hours before he was sworn in as an MK.

The organization is the Al-Aqsa Institute for Islamic Trusts and Heritage, an Israeli-Arab organization which is affiliated with the Islamic Movement in Israel. It released a statement which said that Feiglin “burst alone into the Al-Aqsa mosque at one thirty in the afternoon, accompanied by security guards ... The Muslim worshipers made loud cries of praise to Allah as an expression of their opposition to the break-in and the defilement of the mosque.”

MK Feiglin regularly visits the holy site, usually on the nineteenth of every Hebrew month. Tuesday’s visit was intended to pray to G-d  to give him the strength that will allow him to succeed as an MK.

Feiglin has in the past been detained at the site for allegedly praying or bowing, but he now enjoys parliamentary immunity. Last week, for the first time, he was able to visit the Temple Mount without the fear of being arrested.

Jews are forbidden to pray or show outward signs of worship at the holy site due to fears that doing so would anger Muslims praying at the Al-Aqsa mosque. Police who arrested Feiglin last month for bowing said he would face charges, but so far no charges have been filed.

Arabs continuously accuse Israel of "Judaizing" the Temple Mount, sometimes resorting to ridiculous propaganda such as accusing Israel of using chemicals to erode the foundations of the mosque in order to cause it to collapse.

The Popular Resistance Committees terrorist organization has threatened Israel that any harm to the Al-Aqsa mosque would “open the gates of hell against the Zionist enemy.”

Last month the head of manuscripts at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Najeh Bkeirat, accused Israel of trying to "Judaize" the Temple Mount by building a new Holy Temple at the site.

Speaking on January 4 to the Palestine journal, which is affiliated with the Hamas terrorist group, Bkeirat claimed that "the construction of the false Temple is closer than ever before."

Bkeirat claimed in the interview that an analysis of Jerusalem's development plans finds there is an intention to Judaize the Al-Aqsa mosque, and within this framework build the Temple on its ruins and to then reduce the number of Arab residents in the city.
