This is the time when Christian missionary groups and individual proselytizers are becoming more active – the opening of the ‘hunting season’ for lost Jewish souls. My advice is: do not engage in conversation with them. It is useless – they do not care about logic, facts or even what is written in their own Bible!
Christians need to learn not just read but also analyse without anti-Semitic prejudice what is actually written in New Testament. But, if you must remind them:
1. "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them,” Matthew 5:17. Be aware that they will not care about it, find fallible explanations and try to change the subject. They do it often when nothing plausible can be said in return.
2. Have you noticed that Christian missionaries have stopped referring to Isaiah 7:14 (“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel”) as the justification for a virgin birth of Jesus after Jews pointed out, some 30 years ago, that the word “alma” is translated from Hebrew as “young woman”, and she was a married woman? As well as, name Immanuel is not Jesus or Yeshua, as has become popular name of his among Christian ‘recruiters’ lately. Finally, the story has absolutely nothing to do or has any relevance to Jewish requirements for the Messiah!
Proselytizing among Jews and converting Jews to Christianity is a spiritual genocide! It is not better than the physical one committed by the Inquisition and Nazis! In the beginning Martin Luther was nice to Jews, but 20 years later, when they did not convert, he incited his followers to burn synagogues and kill Jews. In a way, any messianic work outside of your own culture is a sign of aggression, superiority or at least disrespect. By doing so one says "I am better than you, join me or burn in hell"! Flash news - Jews do not believe in hell.
There are so many different shades of Christianity, but many of them quite often only care how to recruit more Jewish souls, to prove that roots of Christianity are in Judaism. Mormons even do it to dead Jews - PATHETIC! Christianity was created by the Roman stooge, Paul, and later was adopted by the Roman Empire to save it from decline!
Christian support to Israel, most of the time, is conditional! Jews must remember that most problems Israel is experiencing are due to help and support 'Christian' countries have been giving to Arabs/Muslim states and fake Palestinians. Just look at a vote pattern in the UN!
There are about 1,000 Christian missionary groups that spend $300 million annually, targeting Jews worldwide for conversion, often by camouflaging themselves to appear as Jewish organisations or congregations!
The best you can say to them, to cut conversation short: “believe in whatever you want – just leave Jews alone.” And walk away from the idiots!
Note: Assimilation and conversion of Jews are existential threat! At the end of the WW2 there were 11 million Jews - now we are lucky if there are 14 million, due to assimilation – primarily as a result of mixed marriage? Most nations have doubled or tripled their population since!
FOOD for THOUGHT by Steven Shamrak
VALUE OUR OWN PEOPLE: Bangladesh does not want to accept and even hinders the return of Rohingya Muslims, who migrated to Myanmar not long ago, like fake Palestinians in Palestine! In 1950’s, a young Jewish state saved Jews from Ethiopia and Yemen, who lived over there for more than two millennia! In addition, Israel absorbed 850,000 of Jews, who were expelled from many Muslim countries – the UN offered no assistance!
Israel is the Land of Milk and Honey!
Finance Minister Moshe Kachlon added a sweetener to the Jewish New Year, signing an order authorizing a Customs tax exemption for the import of 560 tons of honey to the Land of Milk and Honey.
Israel Bombed Syrian Chemical Weapons Facility
Four Israeli warplanes were involved in the strike in the north-west of the country believed to be associated with Bashar al-Assad’s chemical weapons programme. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, along with other sources, identified the target as al-Talai facility, a site that had been subject to US sanctions for its role in the Syrian non-conventional weapons agency.
Greek Orthodox Protest ‘Judaization’ of Western Jerusalem
Some 300 Greek Orthodox Christians demonstrated Saturday in the Old City of Jerusalem against the Greek Orthodox Patriarch Theophilus III, over his decision to sell a large part of the land and property owned by the Greek Orthodox Church in Israel. (These anti-Semites have never protested against the Islamization of Eastern Jerusalem or Bethlehem by Jordan and the PA! Maybe they should protest about the Islamization of Constantinople, and see how the Turks react.)
Is Time Running out to Stop Nuclear Iran?
Iran tests home-grown air defense system. The Bavar-373 long-range missile defense system is designed to match the Russian S-300 system and is set to become operational by March 2018. Iran's S-300 defense system became operational in March 2015.
Long Overdue Eviction!
For the first time since 2009, an Arab family has been removed from Sheikh Jarrah home after long legal dispute: “The owners allowed the Arab tenants to live on the property for five years without rent, but the tenants caused financial damages to the owners, so the eviction was inevitable,” said Arieh King, director of the Israel Land Fund that helped acquire the building.
Number of Terror Attacks in Israel Back to ‘Normal’
The number of terrorist attacks targeting Israelis more than halved in August compare to July. The Israel Security Agency (ISA), recorded in August 110 terrorist attacks on Israelis compared to 222 the previous month.
Quote of the Week:
“The people responsible for our lives and our deaths, our present and the future of our children are not worthy of the positions they hold. It's time we do something about it.” - Lior Meiri, one of the founders of the New Likudniks, explains the controversial new movement's ambitions to change the Likud party from within – Netanyahu has pushed many Zionists from the Likud party. Let hope this group will succeed!
Hijacking the Laws of Occupation
by Alan Baker
The fact that there are 40 or more ongoing conflict and occupation situations throughout the world, including in Iraq, Afghanistan, Western Sahara, East Timor, East Congo, Nagorno-Karabakh, Northern Cyprus, and the Crimea, is not widely known.
The international community does not appear to be very bothered with these occupation situations. In fact, curiously, these situations are rarely seen by the international community as “occupations.” Nor are the respective parties involved described as “belligerent occupants” or “occupying powers.”
It is rare to find resolutions or agenda items in the highly politicized and partisan UN Human Rights Council that deal with such situations of occupation and transfer of people to establish settlements in the territory they are occupying.
However, the objective criteria for such occupations are evident for all to see, and they clearly fall within the factual definitions of occupations, as set out by the international law of armed conflict and specifically in the 1907 Hague Regulations and the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention.
(It was adopted just after Israel won survived the attack from seven Muslim states and won the War of Independence, arguably to prevent transfer of enemy population, Arabs and others, from Israel. At the same time, it did not prevent expulsion of Jews from territories occupied by Jordan and Egypt after the war - East Jerusalem, Gaza, Judea and Samaria. A year later 850,000 Jews were expelled from Muslim countries! There was no international outrage and condemnations from the UN!)
Furthermore, it appears that most of these occupation situations involve extensive movements of people from the occupier’s territory into the occupied territory for purposes of settlement.
But there is little or no international discussion as to whether such actions and such situations violate international humanitarian law and the laws of occupation.
But this is not the case regarding Israel.
In fact, from the extent and volume of international attention directed toward Israel and the excessive number of UN resolutions and international declarations, any objective observer might be led to assume that Israel is considered within the international community to be the only “occupying power.”
This singling out of Israel for special international scrutiny and criticism is indicative of a distinct double standard, so much so that one cannot but conclude that the laws of occupation have indeed been “hijacked” for one political purpose – to single out Israel only...
