To say the news is filled with absurdities is an understatement. Consider the following:
1. How absurd is it that the Center for Jewish History hires a CEO, David Myers, who supports anti-Israel organizations and rewrites Jewish history?
2. How absurd is it that the terrorist entity known as the Palestinian Authority was voted into Interpol, an international police organization whose mission is to fight terrorism and crime?
3. How absurd is it that a US "peace delegation" arrived in Israel just as three Israelis were murdered by Palestinian Arab terrorists, and the head of the PA, Mahmoud Abbas, applauds their heinous act?
4. How absurd is it that the UN Human Rights Council, whose membership consists of fascistic, terrorist states, holds court on a regular basis solely to bash and malign Israel?
The US President Donald Trump said that he wanted to give his efforts to reach peace between Israelis and Palestinian Arabs a chance before moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The president had promised during his 2016 White House campaign to move the embassy to the Israeli capital if elected. Since the election last November, however, Trump had remained mum on whether he intended to follow through on his pledge. (The conflict with fake Palestinians is longer than with North Korea with not result – this is stupidity must end!)
Though PA and Hamas seemed to be moving toward reconciliation earlier in the week, the situation remains precarious, with PA Pres. Abbas stating he will not tolerate illegal weapons in Gaza, and Hamas demanding agreement with Israel before dismantling its military wing.
FOOD for THOUGHT by Steven Shamrak
Israel has never conducted well organised Hasbarah, (public relation program), to neutralise anti-Israel propaganda! It is a low budget ineffective program, which has been constantly undermined by the governments’ stupid comments and inconsistent policy. Only by having a national independence plan and by consistently implementing it will Israel not need Hasbarah, and fight Interpol and other international anti-Semitic organizations, like the 'Ugly Nazi' – the United Nations! I always say: “Nobody respects the one who has no self-respect” - it’s about time to regain it!
In Gaza, Hamas levelled an ancient Canaanite archaeological treasure. Much of the 4,500-year-old Bronze Age city known as Tel Es-Sakan is being bulldozed to make way for construction projects and military bases. (If they are Philistines, who used to live in Gaza, why don’t they care about ‘their own’ history?)
The US and Russia Keeping Business as Usual!
The US State Department announced that the administration had approved the sale to Saudi Arabia of its advanced Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system. The sale worth $15bn was “to boost Saudi and Gulf security against Iran and other regional threats.” It was announced a day after Saudi Arabia agreed to buy air defense systems from Russia during the visit to Moscow of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas acknowledged that despite plans by the Trump administration to reboot negotiations for a final status agreement between Israel and the PA, no Palestinian state would be established in the near future. “The time will come for a Palestinian state,” Abbas said Monday, “but it’s not going to happen anytime soon.” (No rush! He needs to steal more from international anti-Semitic sponsors.)
The contract with Turkey to acquire Russian S-400 missile systems from Russia is being fulfilled and the Turks have already made a down payment. Russia’s S-400 Triumf (NATO’s nickname SA-21 Growler) is the latest long-range anti-antiaircraft missile system. The deal, estimated at $2.5 billion, has caused concern among Turkey’s NATO allies. (With the help of Russia Iran, Syria, Turkey and Egypt are building air defence against Israel!)
The head of the Mossad intelligence service warned that Iran, through its proxies, is operating closer “than ever before” to Israel’s borders with Lebanon and Syria. Spy chief Yossi Cohen said that in addition to arming the terrorist groups Hezbollah and Hamas.
The government was lambasted as “embarrassing” after failing to send a single minister to the annual memorial for the soldiers who fell in the Yom Kippur War. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later apologized for the “unfortunate mistake,” and vowed it would not happen again.
Hamas and PA senior officials are divided on the future of Hamas’ military arm and the donations it receives from foreign sources. According to a report, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas had set three new conditions for reconciliation - dismantling Hamas’ military apparatus; barring external involvement in the administration of the Gaza Strip; and transparency regarding funds intended for the rehabilitation of the Gaza Strip.
After criticism, Canada’s government removed a plaque at a new Holocaust memorial that omitted any reference to Jews or anti-Semitism. Following its removal, Heritage Minister Melanie Joly said the plaque would be replaced with a new one “that reflects the horrors experienced by the Jewish people.” The original plaque memorialized the “millions of men, women and children murdered during the Holocaust” and the “survivors who persevered and were able to make their way to Canada after one of the darkest chapters in history.” (This reminded me the way the Soviet system marked Holocaust! It was writer in Babi Yar and other mass graves of Jewish victims of Nazi and local anti-Semites “Soviet citizens”)
Quote of the Week:
“What is the Jew? What kind of unique creature is this whom all the rulers of all the nations of the world have disgraced and crushed and expelled and destroyed; persecuted, burned and drowned, and who, despite their anger and their fury, continues to live and to flourish. What is this Jew whom they have never succeeded in enticing with all the enticements in the world, whose oppressors and persecutors only suggested that he deny (and disown) his religion and cast aside the faithfulness of his ancestors?! The Jew - is the symbol of eternity... He is the one who for so long had guarded the prophetic message and transmitted it to all mankind. A people such as this can never disappear. The Jew is eternal. He is the embodiment of eternity.” - Leo Tolstoy
While statistics show that most of the lone wolf terror attacks are ideologically and religiously motivated, some Palestinians, whether victims of domestic abuse, religious entanglement or simply mental disorders, see the financial benefits of murdering Israelis, or even the escape that Israeli jails can offer...
Out of some 400 Palestinian attacks tracked by Israel since September 2015, about 18 percent of assailants were driven by personal issues, according to Israel's Shin Bet security agency. Roughly two-thirds of the cases were ideologically motivated, and 15 percent were driven by unknown factors.
A Shin Bet official said these despondent attackers have included the mentally ill, victims of domestic violence, people with economic hardships and women who had "dishonored the family" with sexual indiscretions.
Turning a personal grievance into a nationalist attack carries several advantages. While suicide is frowned upon in Palestinian society, attacks on Israelis, especially security forces or those residing in the West Bank, enjoy widespread support, and anyone killed in a clash with Israelis is seen as a "martyr."
On a practical level, their families are eligible for financial packages from the "martyrs' fund," which provides stipends to relatives of people killed or imprisoned by Israel. The Israelis have long claimed this provides an incentive for Palestinian violence.
