This is a photo from the demonstration in front of the Knesset to protest the sale of Israeli arms to murderous regimes. This is not an issue of Right or Left.
Many Israelis do not like the criticism of Israeli sales of weapons to Africa, where those weapons are used against innocent civilians. The Africans are killing each other anyway, they claim. Somebody is going to sell them weapons, so why shouldn’t it be us? These sales help to fund and develop Israel’s weapons industry to provide for our own security.
Those who make those claims have already begun the slide down a slippery ethical slope. Murder is murder and fostering murder is fostering murder. Israel should not compromise its moral standards for financial gain. It is not and cannot ever be worth it.
