Russia has never promised to remove Iranian militias from Syria - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters in no uncertain terms that his government supports Iran’s presence on Israel’s border and has no intention to ask the Islamic Republic to withdraw its forces: “We state the fact of our own and Iran’s legitimate presence at the invitation of the legitimate government. We also state the fact of the illegitimate presence of the coalition that has been forged by the United States and which carries out military operations…”
Iran Knows Israel Won’t Let It Stay in Syria!
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the Knesset plenum that Iran knows Israel will “not accept” its permanent presence in Syria, adding “I have clarified to our friends in Washington and our friends in Moscow that we will operate in Syria, including southern Syria, in accordance with our understanding and in accordance with our security needs.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed Russian President Vladimir Putin that Israel will not adhere to a ceasefire deal.
Just 30 kilometers from the Israel-Syria border, Iran is recruiting young Shiite locals to create the 313th Battalion, which is receiving equipment, training, and high salaries from the Revolutionary Guards, as well as help from Hezbollah operatives. A joint US-Russian statement, calls for “the reduction, and ultimate elimination” of foreign fighters from southern Syria, including Iranian troops and proxies. However, it does not set a timetable. (Rendering the ‘agreement’ meaningless!)
FOOD for THOUGHT by Steven Shamrak
Anti-Semitism is steadily on the rise in Europe and the United States – it is becoming the norm again! But the Western leaders are only ‘gravely’ concerned about fighting against Islamophobia. Mostly it is imaginary, but well trumped up by Muslim organisations and anti-Western organisations. At the same time, the sentiment is often well justified, due to consistent Islamic terror attacks against the West and Christians in the Muslim countries, not to mention the rampage of rapes and crimes committed by Muslims migrants against westerners in their own countries!
Saeb Erekat, the Secretary General of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), said that the PLO would cut off all its contacts with the United States if the Trump administration follows through with a threat to shut down the PLO mission in Washington, DC. “The State Department notified us in an official letter that they cannot certify the continued opening of the PLO office in Washington, DC, due to the fact that we are pursuing the ICC.”
The UN refugee agency expressed “serious concern” over Israel’s plan to deport or jail thousands of African migrants in the coming months. The proposal by Interior Minister Aryeh Deri and Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan would shutter the southern Israeli Holot detention center for African migrants within four months, in anticipation of “large-scale” deportations. (Many countries are regularly deporting illegal migrants – this is not “serious concern” for international anti-Semites!)
Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki stated (as Hamas) that Fatah adheres to violent “resistance” against Israel. “The weapons of the resistance are pure, and must be kept. We are increasing our training daily and strengthening our capabilities for the appropriate day…” Palestinian Authority leaders have referred to the use of violence as “seeding,” meaning that terror is used to inflict suffering and fear on Israeli society and the international community, after which the terror is stopped temporarily in order to let diplomacy “reap” the fruits of the terror.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised that Iran would not gain a foothold in Syria by which to attack Israel. "Iran is scheming to entrench itself militarily in Syria... I have said very clearly that Israel will work to stop this.” “We must all work together to stop Iran’s aggression and its pursuit of nuclear weapons. If we stand together we will achieve it. But if we have to we'll stand alone. Iran will not get nuclear weapons. It will not turn Syria into a military base against Israel,”
Saudi Arabia and Israel co-sponsored an UN resolution for the first time ever. The resolution, proposed at the UN Human Rights Committee, condemned the Syrian government for human rights abuses. (Small step toward a friendship of convenience)
Bentzi Gopstein, head of a Jewish ‘extremist’ group, Lehava, best known for its efforts to prevent marriage between Jews and Arabs, was summoned Monday for a hearing by the Israeli prosecution, ahead of a potential trial. Gopstein was arrested on October 21and questioned about allegedly making threats. Fourteen members of the organization were also arrested or held under house arrest on suspicion of threatening Arabs. (How many Arabs/Palestinians have been arrested or held under house arrest by Israel for making threats against Jews? Only after they had committed acts of terror!)
An Arab, resident of the al-Bustan area of Silwan, destroyed his own home on Saturday to avoid incurring a demolition fee to the Jerusalem Municipality. He built the house illegally two years ago. The order came with a demolition fee of $22,700. (At last, something does work well!)
Iron Dome Batteries are Deployed
Israel was on high alert Monday night and deployed Iron Dome anti-rocket batteries at key points in the center of the country as well as the south, following intelligence that two Palestinian terror groups, Hamas, and the Jihad Islami, are preparing missile strikes against towns in southern and central Israel. Jihad has vowed to avenge the destruction of the tunnel it excavated between Khan Younis and the Israeli village of Kissoufim. (‘Brinkmanship’ must end by removing enemies from Gaza first!)
Mousa Abu Marzouk, a member of Hamas's political bureau who is one of the most senior members of the organization, said that the Oslo Accords signed between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in 1993 are long dead and that all existing arrangements have nothing to do with those accords. "The resistance is the right of the Palestinian people and the right of all the resistance (terrorist) organizations..." (Killing Jews and destruction of Israel is till the goal!)
Saudi Arabia's foreign minister, Adel al-Jubeir, on Friday blasted Hezbollah: "You cannot have a militia with a military force that operates outside the scope of the government… Unless Hezbollah disarms and becomes a (solely) political party, Lebanon will be held hostage by Hezbollah and by extension Iran. This is not acceptable to us and is not acceptable to the Lebanese," Al-Jubeir made clear. (Saudi Arabia has adopted the same position on Hezbollah as Israel!)
Quote of the Week:
"All parties agree that it is essential that the Palestinian Authority be able to assume full, genuine, and unhindered civil and security responsibilities in Gaza and that we work together to improve the humanitarian situation for Palestinians living there." - President Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East Jason Greenblatt demanded that Hamas must disarm - For how long will the same idiotic ideas be repeated with no result? Destruction of Israel has always been their aim. Only removal of enemies of the Jewish state from Jewish land will bring peace! But first, there is a need to remove Jewish advisors to the US president – they do more harm than good to Israel!
The strong pledges made by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gady Eisenkott – that Iran and Hezbollah would not be permitted to establish a permanent military presence in Syria and come close to the Israeli border – have melted away... there is nothing to stop the Iranian and Hezbollah military presence just 20km from northern Israel from becoming an established fact for an indefinite period.
Israel only has a bilateral military coordination apparatus with the Russian command in Syria, under which it retains freedom of action against Iranian and Hezbollah forces in Syria, which is limited to three spheres:
1. Aerial action in Syrian air space.
2. Surgical strikes against Iranian and Hezbollah arms convoys and depts.
3. Military response to Iranian and Hezbollah forces coming dangerously close to its border. This distance has not been precisely defined since both the Americans and the Russians rejected Israel’s proposals (50 kilometers).
At this moment, elements of Iranian and Hezbollah command posts – although not troops – have set up shop opposite the Israeli Golan at distances of 4km to 15km from the border, with no sign of preparations to pull up stakes and move out. (Because Israel’s concerns were not addressed, the agreement allows Israel a freedom to neutralise any enemy targets that are perceived as the threat!)
